For nearly two decades, Ron worked within Alberta's child intervention and youth mental health systems. This included managing forensic and addiction services for youth and working directly with high-risk youth and their families. That experience gave him a close, often difficult view of how help people get stuck in cycles of crisis, and how much of healing depends on someone believing change is possible for them. Ron is now bringing that same commitment into the therapy room, this time working one-on-one with clients rather than through a system.
Ron is a Provisional Psychologist, registered with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP), working under the supervision of Linda Forde, Registered Psychologist. He holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from City University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Alberta. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education at Edgewood University.
Ron brings a warm, curious, and non-judgmental presence to his work and is committed to helping clients feel genuinely heard as they work through what brings them to therapy. Using a collaborative, strengths-based approach, he works with couples, youth/adolescents (13+), and adults to build practical skills and lasting change so they can move toward the life and relationships they want.
Ron can help clients who are struggling due to:
Ron primarily draws on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Therapy, adapting his approach to fit each client's goals and circumstances. Ron believes clients already carry much of what they need to move forward and sees his role as helping them uncover and build on existing strengths. This integrated approach helps clients understand what's driving their distress and take concrete steps toward healthier coping, stronger relationships, and a more fulfilling life.
Ron is currently accepting new clients. If you're ready to take the next step, reach out to schedule a session with Ron

Booking your teen in for a counselling session can be both scary and exciting for all involved! Prior to booking the appointment, you will have already had an open conversation with your teen or them with you about wanting to go to counselling (or they will have talked to you about wanting to go to therapy) and you and your teen will have picked out a counsellor which they feel comfortable opening up to. As a parent, you might be confused about the process of booking your teen in for counselling. What can you expect in terms of communication between yourself and your teenager’s therapist? What do you need to know before the first session? And what can you expect to need to provide your therapist with prior to your teen starting sessions? This blog post is to help walk you through the process of what happens when your teenager starts counselling.
